I’m Henry, an experienced UK therapist who specializes in working with neurodiversity (ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, dyspraxia etc.). It’s sadly too often the case that neurodivergent people feel unable to bring the context of their neurodiversity into therapy. It’s my view that if neurodiversity is present, no matter if it’s suspected or officially diagnosed, it must always be welcomed into the therapy setting. Your neurodiversity does not have to be your defining characteristic, but the fundamental nature of a neurodiverse brain will nearly always inform your experience of mental health.
The more aware and integrated we are with the unique nature of our neurodiversity, the more power we have to engage with life in a balanced, resilient and fulfilled way.
