Henry Wickenden
I have worked as a therapist for 8 years, achieving consistent and outstanding outcomes for hundreds of clients. During my career I have seen an increasing need for an effective, pragmatic and adaptable form of psychological support that could meet a diverse range of needs.
I trained as a humanistic integrative therapist at the CPPD institute in London. Integrative therapy has provided me with a broad range of models, perspectives, and tools so that I can adapt my practice to your specific needs.
Over the last 4 years I have developed a particular skill set for working with neurodiverse clients. As a neurodiverse person myself, I have an innate understanding of the often invisible and persistent challenges that neurodiverse people face. I have achieved excellent outcomes with many neurodiverse clients who have previously struggled to make effective use of therapy. Sometimes this was because their neurodiversity was not yet known to them, or went unrecognised by their therapist. I’ve sadly often worked with clients who didn’t feel safe enough to explore their neurodiversity or were even explicitly precluded from bringing it to their therapy.
I believe the fundamental aim of my work is to facilitate my clients’ return to autonomy and sustainable self-regulation.
By providing perspective, insight, and self-awareness through non-judgemental and engaged therapeutic practice, I provide clients with the tools to meet the unpredictable and persistent challenges of our world independently and with confidence.
