How frequent would the sessions be and how long do they last?
Sessions will be on a weekly basis and last for 50 minutes. The regularity can change to fortnightly as a client starts to develop their autonomy and confidence to do without a weekly space. There’s no predictable pattern as to when or if this change of frequency might be preferable, and so I review this regularly with clients over the course of our work together.
How much do sessions cost?
My flat rate for all clients is £65 per session.
How many sessions will/should we have?
This very much depends on your needs, budget and what you hope to achieve with your therapy. I always encourage my clients to consider committing to a set number of sessions, often around 10 - 12. In my experience this has two main benefits. The first is that therapy often grows to fit the space that it’s given. By keeping the time we have finite, it often helps clients make the most efficient use of the time we have together. The second benefit is budgeting.
Good therapy is expensive. It is much harder to accommodate an indefinite weekly expense than it is to plan around a total cost once a number of sessions is agreed between us. Having a set number of sessions might not be for everyone and isn’t necessarily suitable depending on the material you would like to bring or the goals you would wish to achieve. If you feel working open ended will be better for you, I am more than happy to discuss and accommodate this. As with the frequency of the sessions, I check in regularly with my clients so that should they wish to extend or shorten the number of sessions for any reason we can do so in good time and adjust the work we do according to the new time frame.
Do you see people in person?
Not currently, but this may well change in the future.
Will my appointment be on the same day and at same time each week?
Yes. This is both by practical necessity and to aid the sense of consistency in our work.
Can I change the date or time of my appointment?
Depending on my availability and if discussed well in advance, yes but I cannot make changes within the same week of the appointment.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
I require at least 48 hours notice of a cancellation before the time of the appointment. Anything less than this will incur the full cost of the session.
